Unemployment in Nepal

The people who are temporarily without jobs are called unemployed. The state of being unemployed is unemployment. If people do not apt jobs to be employed, it is called ‘the problem of unemployment’. Nowadays, this problem is a burning challenge in Nepal.
Many people are unemployed in Nepal. The number of them is rapidly increasing. Therefore, it is a serious problem in Nepal. There are many causes of unemployment. Nepal is an agro-based country. Firstly, many people are employed in agriculture, but nowadays, the trend of leaving agriculture is increasing. People feel that agriculture is not economically beneficial. They go to towns to look for good jobs but they cannot get any jobs easily and become unemployed. Secondly, some educated people are extremely traditional. They feel that educated people should not start simple jobs. They stay at home being jobless. Thirdly, most of the students in Nepal are getting general education. They do not have apt knowledge and skill of technical and practical education. Fourthly, job opportunities in Nepal are very limited.
The problem of unemployment invites many problems and social disasters. If people do not get anything to live on, they are likely to be involved in crimes such as robbery, theft etc. We can see that unemployed youths may start taking drugs and drinking. In some serious conditions, completely unemployed people are likely to commit suicide. The pace of development gets slower because unemployed people cannot educate their children. By the result, the future of them can be led to misery and ruins.
In order to solve the problem of unemployment, the opportunities and facilities of technical education should be decentralized. Youths should be encouraged to get technical education. Technical hands can be self-dependent. Many job opportunities can be created by establishing many factories and industries. In the rural areas, the government should encourage the people to establish cottage industries. Similarly, emigration to cities is to be discouraged to reduce the gravity of this problem.
The problem of unemployment can be reduced and removed but it takes a long time. Everyone must be responsible for it. This problem is more serious in towns than in villages. The development of the rural areas certainly solves the problem of unemployment.

Population Problem in Nepal

The total number of people living in a certain place and in a certain time is known as population. Population consists of males and females. Population is always a flux. Everyday some babies are born and some people die. In the context of Nepal, population is increasing, but the rate of population growth does not seem very challenging. The density of population in urban areas is higher than in rural regions.
Nepal is a developing country. More than 50% of the people are illiterate. They are not fully aware of the adverse effects of population. Illiteracy is one of the major causes of population growth in Nepal. The people who are conservative want to accept as many children as they are naturally born. They think that God gives them their children, and if they try to stop giving birth to their babies. God will be unhappy with them. The second cause of population growth in Nepal is lack of a balanced diet. People along with their children are not completely healthy. Many children die everyday. Parents are not sure that all of the children can be alive. Therefore they want to give birth to many children.
Most of the people are poor in Nepal. They feel that more hands in a family means more income in future. Specially farmers and labourers want to give birth to many babies. They hope that their children can help them in their field work. Thus the next cause of the rapid population growth is poverty. Because of polygamy system, too, population is increasing. The system of polygyny in our society helps to increase our population. A man gets married to more women, and these women give birth to more babies. The another cause of population growth is immigration to Nepal from our neighbouring countries.
There are many adverse effects of uncontrolled population growth. It brings many problems such as natural disasters, crimes and poverty. If population increases rapidly, a country cannot use the money for the development. More people means more problems. Growing population clears the jungle for agriculture and settlement. Then pollution gets increased. Theft and robbery can take place in the society. Most of the people have to face with the problem of unemployment.
We can control over population growth in some ways. Firstly, we have to educate the people because educated people do not want to give birth to many children. The people who are illiterate should be convinced to control their family size. The means of family planning should be provided adequately all over the country. Nowadays, many parents have controlled their family size. It may be true that the upliftment of the nation depends on the controlled and required population growth.

Corruption in Nepal

Corruption refers to illegal bribe which is given to someone for doing something. It is a punishable crime by law. Giving and accepting any bribe is prohibited by law. The officials and leaders cannot accept any bribe if they are honest and dutiful. Therefore, corruption is the matter of illegality, negligence, lack of sincerity and honesty.
In Nepal, mostly government officials and leaders are found to have been involved in corruption. They abuse their position-power to influence others. If they are not honest and sincere, they can be involved in corruption. The problem of corruption in Nepal is a burning challenge now. It is said that some public position holders do not care their duties; rather they only care their own benefits. They are found to have been involved in the practice of corruption.
There are some factors which are responsible for promoting corruption. They are extreme greed to earn more money, selfishness, lack of honesty and absence of moral values. Furthermore, the deeply rooted culture of slavery encourages people to be corrupt. Similarly, poorly paid officials are compelled to accept bribe to run their daily life. The officials and the leaders who do not realize their duties and responsibilities are likely to be involved in the practice of corruption.
The condition of corruption in Nepal has demoralized the dignity and prestige of the nation. If people are corrupt, development paces very slowly. The corrupt people become very rich illegally overnight. The difference between the rich and the poor gets wider and wider. The poor feel oppressed by the rich. The poor and oppressed are likely to start destructive struggles against the government if the corrupt are not legally punished by the state. Corrupt mentality and activities of the officials and the leaders may lead them to other crimes. It is certain that corruption leads the human civilization to failures and ruins.
In order to uproot existing corruption, the corrupt should be legally punished by the state. The property illegally earned by the corrupt should be nationalized. Some general people who are the victims of slavery offer something to the officials even if it is not demanded. Such people should be educated by teaching them why giving and taking bribe is a crime. Poorly paid low rank officials’ salary should be increased. All the corrupt people are to be fired from the positions. It should be publicized through Medias such as radios, TV’s and newspapers.
Corruption is a social, legal and moral crime. It leads the human civilizations to ruins. It should be first discouraged and gradually uprooted completely. To enhance human dignity and prosperity, corruption should be uprooted at any cost.

Mountaineering in Nepal

Nepal is a mountainous country. We can see many snow-capped lofty mountains. The highest peak in the world, Mt.Everest, attracts many tourists. Many people climb other mountains, too. Many Nepali Sherpas are employed in the field of mountaineering. They scale the mountains for two purposes: firstly to gain fame and secondly as the profession.
Mountaineering has promoted tourism in Nepal. Many foreign tourists visit Nepal to climb mountains. Especially, they want to scale Mt.Everest. It was first scaled by Tenzing and Hillary in 1953. Since then, it has been an adventure for the mountain climbers. Mountaineers must possess the spirit of adventure. They have to face with many problems and dangers while climbing mountains. It is an organized sport. There are many training centres throughout the world to train the mountaineers. They are taught how to accomplish the heroic task safely. Because of lofty mountains, mountaineering has been flourished in Nepal.
The sport of mountaineering has many merits in Nepal. It has uplifted tourism by luring tourists. We can earn foreign currency from tourism. Thus, mountaineering helps us to earn foreign currency. Many Nepalese are employed in the field of mountaineering. They donot have to face with the problem of unemployment. Our country Nepal has been known to all parts of the world because of mountaineering. The tourists who visit Nepal once get fascinated to visit again. They also express their views with friends and relatives. Thus mountaineering helps us to gain foreign currency, to solve the problem of unemployment and to make Nepal known all over the world.
Mountaineering can cause some demerits. It is a risky job. Unfortunately, some mountain climbers are killed while climbing mountains. It also causes environmental problems. The mountaineers throw cans, bottles, plastics etc on the way. They pollute the environment. Mountaineering is very important in Nepal. It certainly boosts up the economic status of the country. The drawbacks of it are nominal. It should be promoted appropriately. The sectors concerned are expected to pay a complete attention to gear it up

Problems of Rising Prices in Nepal.

Nepal is a landlocked country. It is also an agro-based country. It is not developed. It is known as a developing country. There are many problems in Nepal. They are unemployment, illiteracy, over population growth, corruption, social evils and crimes and so on and so forth. The problem of rising prices is also a serious problem in Nepal.
There are some causes of rising prices. Nepal has to import many things which are really expensive for the average Nepalese people. According to economists, growing economy of the world has given rise to the prices of the goods, but the purchasing capacity of the average people in Nepal is not rising. Similarly, rapidly growing population, corruption and scarcity of the goods are other causes of rising of prices. More people need more goods. Corrupt individuals can afford anything. When they pay high prices, rising of prices runs faster. Some of the goods are scare in our markets. More people demand these goods. High demand certainly increases the prices of goods. Thus, the main causes of rising prices are growing economy of the world, imports, over population growth, corruption, scarcity of goods and high demands.
The poor are victimized by rising prices of goods. The rich can afford anything. The rich own the means of production. They pay the workers handsomely. Ultimately, the production become expensive. Poor people are likely to die of hunger. The daily needs are highly expensive. Extremely rising prices can result crimes such as theft, robbery, corruption and so on. Most of the people are poor here. They cannot afford expensive things. If the goods are not purchased, the factories can go bankrupt. The economy of the country certainly gets affected adversely if rising of prices goes up rapidly.
In order to check this problem, two kinds of measures are to be adopted. They are short term measures and long term measures. As the short term measures, production should be increased to reduce scarcity of goods. The government should try to control it directly specifying the cost of goods. The long term measures is to uplift the economy of the country.
In Nepal, the rising of prices certainly affects the poor. The rich are not normally affected. The government should control the prices of goods by opening more factories and fixed-rate stores. Fixed rate stores automatically control the goods getting expensive.

Water Resources In Nepal

God has been very kind to our country to provide her unlimited natural resources. Nepal is the second richest country in water resources in the world. We can see many rivers, rivulets, brooks, streams, falls, lakes and small springs. Among them, rivers are the most important water resources in Nepal
The major rivers in Nepal are Mechi, Koshi, Bagmati, Narayani, Gandaki, Karnali and Mahakali. Among them, the Koshi is the largest, the Narayani is the deepest and the Karnali is the longest rivers in Nepal. The major lakes are Rara Tal, Mahendra Tal, Phewa Tal, Begnas Tal. Similarly, there are innumerable brooks, streams and springs. Snow-covered mountain peaks are the permanent water resources of rivers, lakes and rivulets.
Our life is closely related to the water resources. All of them play a vital role in the development of the country. We have produced hydro-electricity in many places using the water of the rivers, rivulets and streams. We use water for irrigation, cooking, washing and drinking. They are also important for transportation and entertainment. Nowadays, many people enjoy rafting in rivers and boating on lakes. Rivers also play the role of regional and national boundaries of the country. The agriculture of Nepal can be improved by providing adequate irrigation.
Specially the rivers which flow through or near the cities are getting polluted. Similarly, the lakes and streams have got polluted because of the different activities of human beings. Urbanization and industrialization are the main causes of pollution of water resources. We can see that ‘Phewa Tal’ in pokhara is getting polluted. Nowadays, the Bagmati and the Bishnumati in Kathmandu are no more rivers; rather they seem to be dirty drainages. The resources of water are getting badly affected. Because of rapid deforestation, water amount in rivers has been decreasing.
Water resources in Nepal can be preserved in many ways. Firstly, all the open and barren lands should be afforested. The existing forest should be preserved. We can preserve the rivers, streams and lakes in the urban areas by making drains along the sides of them. Similraly, waste products of the factory, garbages and dirt should be properly managed.
If we preserve our water resources, we can earn foreign currency. The rivers in Nepal are suitable for rafting. We can produce more hydro-electricity than we need; it can be sold to neighbouring countries. The future of our nation depends on the proper use of water resources.

Village Development in Nepal

Nepal is a country of villages. Most of the area of the country is occupied by the villages. There are 3915 V.D.C’s, 53 municipalities, 4 sub- metropolitan cities and one metropolitan city. According to 2058 census, 85.20% of the Nepalese people live in the rural areas. The rest of the people (14.20%) live in the urban regions. In Nepal, the development of the villages is the development of the nation.

Nepal is an agro-based country. Most of the villages are farmers. Modern facilities are not available in the villages. The facilities of transportation, communication, electricity, entertainment, etc. have not been provided to all the villages yet. The farmers need basic facilities such as irrigation, improved seeds, modern fertilizers, provision of market etc. Even these facilities have not been adequately provided yet. Nowadays, the beautiful green villagers are being changed into open lands because of deforestation. Many natural disasters like landslides, over-flood etc. terrify the village people. Villagers are found to be honest, co-operative, hard working, trust-worthy and peace-loving. Because of some reasons, villagers are emigrating to cities. If this process goes unchecked, the villagers can be vacant.

The development of the nation depends on the development of the villages. In order to develop them, all the possible facilities should be provided there. Firstly, the facilities of transportation, communication, electricity, irrigation, improved seeds, fertilizers etc. should be provided to all the people. Similarly, other facilities like education, government services, job opportunities, factories, etc. should be decentralized. Government should give high priority on agricultural development. If the villages are developed, we can enjoy the flavour of real development. Then the people who are living in the urban areas wish to go to villages for their permanent  settlement. The people living in the villages do not want to emigrate to cities. Then the problem of over population, pollution and unemployment in cities can be reduced.

In order to develop villages, all the facilities should be provided to the villagers. The government and all the other sectors concerned should give high priority on village development. If villages are well-developed, they will be better places than towns in all aspects.

Wild Animals in Nepal

The animals which live in the jungle are called wild animals. Some of them are tigers, lions, leopards, foxes, monkeys, deer, squirrels and so on. They can be categorized into various species and groups. Some of them are carnivorous, some are herbivorous and some others are omnivorous. Most of them are directly or indirectly advantageous for us.

The animals that live on land are known as terrestrial animals. They are elephants, tigers, lions, etc. The other kinds of animals are arboreal such as monkeys, squirrels, chameleon etc. They spend most of their times in trees. Generally, birds are called aerial animals. They can fly in the air. The animals which live in water are categorized as aquatic animals. They are fishes, crabs, dolphins etc. Similarly the animals such as alligators, tortoises, frogs etc are called amphibians. Thus the animals are categorized as terrestrial, arboreal, arial, aquatic and amphibian according to their living places.

The animals can also be categorized on the basis of what they eat. The animals which feed on grass and plants are called herbivorous animals. They are goats, cows, buffaloes, sheep, and so on. The animals that feed on only flesh of other animals and birds fall under the category of carnivorous. They are tigers, lions, foxes etc. The animals that live on both plants and flesh of other animals are known as omnivorous.

Nowadays most of the wild animals are declining. Some of the animals are endangered. An animal cannot survive if its habitat is destroyed. The jungle, the living place of the wild animals, is fast being destroyed because of different activities of human beings. People clear the jungle for agriculture and settlement. They cut down the trees for firewood, timber and building materials. Furthermore, people kill the wild animals for various purposes. The main cause of their disappearance is uncontrolled and over-population growth. We can preserve wild animals by preserving the forest, running afforestation programmes, opening wildlife reserves and national parks and making strict rules to ban the hunting of the wild animals and birds.

Wild animals are absolutely advantageous for us. Firstly, to preserve them, we have to preserve the jungle. If we preserve the jungle, the natural calamities such as flood, landslides, desertification, and soil erosion etc. can be reduced. We can preserve other natural resources too. Similarly, we can lure foreign tourists if we provide them opportunities to see the wild animals. By the result, we can earn foreign currency from them. Our ecology and environment can be kept in balance by preserving wild animals.

Some people claim that wild animals are harmful for us. They say that our domestic animals are  killed and eaten by carnivorous wild animals. Some animals such as deer, elephants etc. destroy our crops and vegetables. Some of  the wild animals are dangerous for human beings, too.

It can be said that preservation of the wild animals is our own preservation. Therefore, we have to preserve them at any cost. All the sectors concerned are responsible to preserve the wild animals and birds in order to preserve the ecology and environment.

The rivers in Nepal

A tiny mountainous country Nepal is rich in water resources. Some of them are the rushing torrents, lakes, rivers, spring, and underground water resources. Among them, the rivers play the most important role in Nepal. Most of them rise from big lakes or mountains. They flow through mountains, rocks, and plains.
The major rivers in Nepal are Mechi, Koshi, Bagmati, Narayani, Gandaki, Karnali, Mahakali, and others. The  Koshi in the eastern part of Nepal is the Nepal is the largest, the Narayani is the deepest and the Karnali is the longest rivers in Nepal. All these rivers rise from mountains. These rivers are very clean but the Bagmati in Kathmandu is highly polluted. The amount of water in all the rivers during dry seasons slightly decreases but in the rainy season, the water level gets increased. Each big river has several tributaries.
All the rivers in Nepal play a vital role in the development of the country. We have produced hydro-electricity in many places using the water of the rivers. Similarly, they are very important to irrigate our farms. The water of them can be used for cooking, drinking and washing. They are also useful for transportation and entertainment. Nowadays, many people enjoy rafting in our rivers. They are also the regional and other boundaries for political and administrative purposes. Thus the rivers in Nepal have many advantages and uses for us.
Some people say that the rivers in Nepal during rainy season are very dangerous. They are often over-flooded and destroy the fields and houses of their banks. Many people are killed by the flood in Nepal. Many fertile fields have been swept away. They also cause the landslides when they are over-flooded.
Specially the rivers which flow through or near the cities are getting polluted. They must be preserved. Nowadays, the Bagmati and the Bishnumati in Kathmandu are extremely polluted. There are no more rivers now; rather they seem to be drainages. We can preserve such rivers by making drains along the banks of them. We should not throw any garbages and dirts on the banks of them.
We have not utilized our rivers appropritately yet. We can be the richest people in the world if we utilize them aptly. We have to  preserve them at any cost if they are getting polluted. It can be said that the rivers in Nepal are the fortunes of the country.

The mountains in Nepal

Nepal is a mountainous country. She is also known as the land of the Himalayas. The Himalayas situated in the northern part of the country must have uplifted the identity and dignity of her.
The high mountains in Nepal are covered with snow, but the lower parts of them are covered with grass and plants. Many people live in mountains. Most of the fertile lands are cultivated. The mountains are not densely populated. Life of the people is difficult there. Most of the people are farmers. Higher mountains are also used to graze to cattles such as cows, yaks, goats and sheep. The snow-capped mountain peaks attract many tourists. They seem to be attractive, but they are getting polluted nowadays. The main attractions of tourism in Nepal are these lofty mountains.
These mountains in Nepal are very important. Our tourism trade depends on them. Many tourists visit Nepal to watch mountains. Some of them come to Nepal to climb the snowy mountains; especially the climb Mt. Everest, the highest peak in the world. Many rare herbs are found in the Himalayan regions of Nepal. We can use them directly as the medicine or they can be used to make important medicines. If we sell them to foreign countries, we can earn foreign currency. The snow-capped mountains are the origins of the rivers in Nepal. Therefore, mountains are the permanent sources of water. The climate and environment are completely fresh and healthy in the mountains.
We can have some disadvantages from mountains. They are one type of hindrances to the development of the country. The fertility of the land is not rich in the mountains. The farmers are under the poverty line. Roads are the basic requirements of any other development programmes. But, road making in mountains is very slow and expensive. The life style of the people is very difficult. Many natural disasters such as landslides, over flood and soil erosion affect the people badly. The main problem in the mountain is lack of good transportation.
Nowadays, the life style of the people in the mountains is getting uplifted because the problem of transportation and communication has been reduced. Most of the people have started growing vegetables and fruits which are more advantageous than traditional farming. If the mountain regions are properly developed, the status of the country certainly gets uplifted. It is said that the development of the mountains in Nepal supports the development of the whole country.

AIR SERVICES IN NEPAL

Nepal is a landlocked and mountainous country. Air services are very important here. Air services play the prime role in the field of tourism in Nepal. Development of the country is also based on air facilities in Nepal.
The first airlines in Nepal is R.N.A.C. which stands for Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation. It was established on July 1, 1958. Since then, it has been providing air services regularly. Nowadays, there are many other private airlines working in Nepal. They were established after the implementation of multiparty democracy in 2046 B.S. All the airlines are providing air facilities. R.N.A.C. has its both national and international flights; but all the private airlines have only domestic flights. They are only profit making airlines; but R.N.A.C. prefers providing services to profit making.
Airlines have been playing important roles to carry goods and people from one place to another quickly and easily. Many remote regions are connected with towns by airlines. These regions totally depend on air services to supply daily needs, textbooks, medicines and so on. Most of the tourist sectors are situated in remote regions. Tourists want to visit these places. They go thereby planes or helicopters. If we provide adequate air facilities to the tourists, tourism will be promoted. Tourism is one of the main sectors to earn foreign currency. Air services have also made Nepal known to most of the parts of the world. Similarly, air services have strengthened national unity by bringing different parts of the country together. They also help us in reducing the problem of unemployment. Many youths have been employed in airlines and other offices belonging to tourism. Because of the abovementioned contributions of the air services, they are of great significance in Nepal.
Despite the facilities and contributions of airlines, the poor of Nepal cannot get benefit from these services. The fare of planes and helicopters is really expensive. The poor cannot afford them. The government should give priority to provide air facilities to all the people of the remote areas which depend on air facilities.

A Famous Religious Place In Nepal

Nepal is not only rich in natural beauties and gifts but also in cultural, historical and religious importance. There are many temples which belong to Hindu gods and goddesses. Major religious places are Pashupatinath in Kathmandu, Janaki Temple in Janakpur, Manakamana in Gorkha, Barahachhetra in Sunsari, Krishna Temple in Patan, Lumbini, Swayambhunath and so on.
In Kathmandu, there are so many temples and other religious places. Among them, Pashupatinath is one of the most famous temples in the kingdom. Most of the Hindus want to visit here because it is the temple of god Mahadev. It is situated about five km east of the city centre. The temple was made many years ago, perhaps around 400 A.D.
Gopals, the people taming cows, are believed to be the first inhabitants of the valley. One of the Gopals saw a cow pouring her milk over something everyday. He suspected that there must have been the power of God. Then they dug the place. After digging it, they discovered the image of sacred Linga of Mahadev. Then they build the temple of Pashupati. Since then it has been one of the famous holy places of the valley.
The temple is richly-ornamented in pagoda style. It is on the bank of the Bagmati river. It is a very beautiful place surrounded by green forest. We can see many monkeys and birds arround the temple. Many Shadus have been living there for a long time. There is a big funeral place where the dead bodies are cremated. We can see many of Pashupati having ritual dips in the Bagmati river every morning. Specially during Shivaratri fair, many devotees come here from foreign countries, too. Among four doors of the temple, only one is open for usual days like Maha Shivararti, Teej etc., all the doors are open for pilgrims.
Pashupati Site is not only a place of historical and cultural importance but also one of the ‘World Heritges’. Nowadays, the holy river Bagmati is getting polluted because of rapidly growing urbanization, industrialization and pollution. The devotees and pilgrims cannot have ritual dips in the river because of the water being polluted. Fortunately a concrete plan to save the Pashupati Site  and the holy river Bagmati has already been affective. Nowadays, the water is cleaner than it was just a few years ago.
The people who are strongly theist believe  that the Pashupati has saved the kingdom. Everyone realizes that Pashpati Site should be quickly cleaned and well-planned to save it properly. The government as well as all the sectors concerned are responsible for it.

    TOURISM IN NEPAL

Our country Nepal is very rich in natural beauties, gifts, resources and wonders. There are many places and things of cultural, historical and religious importance. Mt. Everest, the highest peak in the world, lies in Nepal. We are proud of it. The snowcapped mountain peaks, beautiful water resources, the green forests of hypnotic beauty, flora and funa etc. attract many tourists every year.
Nowadays tourism in Nepal is very important. Nepal is a suitable place to promote tourism. The nature has given us many things which are liked by tourists. Some tourists come here to enjoy the natural beauties and wonders. Some of them visit our country for trekking and climbing mountains. Some want to learn something about our history, culture, religion and so on. We can see that some tourists come here to enjoy their holidays.
We can get many advantages from it. Firstly, we can earn foreign currency which can be used for our development. Many people have got employed in the offices belonging to tourism. Thus it helps to reduce the problems of unemployment. Tourists buy our goods, curios and native articles of our country. By the result, our cottage industries can get benefited. Tourism helps our hotel industry. They want to live in good hotels. Many expensive and good hotels have been providing services to them. Similarly, many tourist guides and porters are employed in it.
We can learn their languages, cultures and traditions from the tourists. They also learn many things from us. The fame of our nation gets widened because they convey it their friends and relatives. Our country Nepal will be known to the rest part of the world. When they observe our good cultures, traditions and things, they expose them to their country.
There are a few disadvantages of tourism. Some of the communicable diseases can be spread by tourists; it is the worst impact. Because of bottles, plastic bags and other even at the peak of the mountain. Some of the tourists can be criminal. They can commit crimes here.
There are some problems in the field of tourism in Nepal. The major problems are transportation and security. Most  of the beauty spots are in remote areas. We have not built roads to go to these places yet. We have to depend on air services only. Similarly, the problem of security has reduced the number of the tourists. There are not standard hotels in the remote areas. We have to provide all the facilities to the tourists to promote tourism in Nepal.
We have to try to promote tourism in Nepal. All the sectors concerned should give a high priority to promote it. The government should provide transportation facilities and security to the tourists. Then more and more tourists will come here.
